"My story" I first discovered my body was changing after the birth of my third daughter. I was 33 years old. I started putting on weight for no obvious reason. I noticed my clothes were getting a bit tighter. I was very tiny all through my life. I went through three pregnancies with no problems. After my third daughter was born I quickly got back into shape and life was very busy. My husband had a serious health problem which was causing me enormous stress. I guess I just coped with everything pretty well. But my hormonal system was slowly going out of control.

I started to feel light headed at times and dizzy or faint. I felt very anxious and started having panic attacks. My doctor would overlook the hormone issue, saying I was too young to be having hormonal problems (If I'd already had three babies, surly I had hormones, so problems were obviously a definate issue) but I couldn't find a doctor who would look at my main problem (HORMONES).

Most were men doctors, what do they know about womens bodies? My weight was steadily rising. I had learned to control my anxiety and stress was up and down. About 10 years ago I found a really nice lady doctor who tried me on anti-depressants which I have been on for 10 years now. I really wanted to fix my hormonal problem and lose weight and get of the anti-depressants.

The anti-depressants worked to control my anxiety, but that was about all they did. My weight was steadily increasing overtime. I was eating a very healthy diet, and excercising regularly but still my weight was increasing. The doctors did more blood tests. Maybe it was this, or maybe it was that. It was all guess work. Doctors really don't know what's wrong with us, they usually write a prescription and hope we feel better and go away.

I knew right from the start my hormones were changing. I could feel a pattern happening from month to month, but I didn't know how to fix it. Everyone I spoke to didn't understand how I felt, and trying to explain was useless because they didn't know what I was feeling. It wasn't until I learned through my own research about female hormones that I discovered my body was producing all these symptoms because I had stopped having babies. My body was producing too much oestrogen, and the more oestrogen my body was producing the more it was being stored as fat and the more fat that was being stored, the more my body was producing even more oestrogen, so on and on it went (if you can understand what I am saying), my weight was going up and up and not coming down in any hurry.

Meanwhile, while my body was producing too much oestrogen, my progesterone was not increasing to match my oestrogen. Unless your progesterone and oestrogen are producing exactly the same amounts of hormones each month (perfect balance of both), then your whole hormonal balance is thrown out. This is called Pre-menstrual-syndrome.

I was prescribed a natural progesterone cream to help with my progesterone levels. The cream helped me feel slightly better so I kept using it daily. But my weight was still going up. I was now 25kg over my normal weight. Dieting was a joke as my weight gain wasn't caused by overeating, as we know. So for me to have any chance of losing weight and getting my Pre-menstrual-syndrome symtoms under control I had to look at the only solution I knew that really works. WHAT OTHER TREATMENTS HAD I TRIED?I tried the traditional treatments and went from doctor to doctor, having blood test after blood test, trying to find the CURE. Anything was better than doing nothing. Doctors would ignore my symptoms as some other problem. Its probably this or its probably that. Never was it hormonal related. They would treat each individual symptom with a prescription, never was it an overall combination of symptoms. So after years of no help the traditional way I looked for ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT.

I have always been a big believer in finding the cause of the problem and treating it, and then the symptoms will disappear. I'd tried many other alternative treatments from Acupuncture (ouch) to boiling up chinese herbs and drinking the herbal mixture(yuck), to meditation for stress(OK if you have time), to hormonal creams(some work, others make it worse), even prescription medication which is very addictive. Natural shakes and pills(too expensive and time consuming) I wanted something simple and easy and affordable and most importantly it had to work.
